Weblog description



This weblog is designed to cover the assignments and projects of the teaching methodology course . This course will consider both theories of language learning and innovative methods to teaching a second language . It focuses on the development of ELT from traditional grammar translation method to communicative approach and beyond to the current post-method era . At the end of this course , students are expected to :

• Learn about approaches to language teaching in the 20th and 21st century .
• Be able to discover the implication of learning theories for language teaching/learning .
• Learn about the development and management of classroom interaction in the educational contexts in which English is taught and learned .
• Evaluate some methods and materials that teachers have used to teach it .
• Understand the links between what teachers and learners do in class and what applied linguistic research tells us about how second languages are learned .
• Be able to evaluate recent EFL/ESL research and its relevance to EFL/ESL teaching and learning .
• Be able to assess the strength and weaknesses of selected models of second language learning .
• Understand the role of various cognitive , linguistic , and demographic factors in the learning of a second or foreign language .
• Understand the ways in which the learning environment can influence language learning .
• Be able to apply the results of research in learning research to the second language classroom .
